Kebnekaise – Sweden’s Highest Mountain | Perfect Summit Weather
Kebnekaise – Sweden’s highest mountain, captured on an exceptionally calm and clear day in the Swedish mountains.
Kebnekaise – Sweden’s highest mountain, captured on an exceptionally calm and clear day in the Swedish mountains.
Located in northern Sweden, Kebnekaise has two main summits. The North Peak is a permanent rocky summit at 2,096.8 metres (6,879 ft) above sea level and is currently Sweden’s highest point. The South Peak is covered by a small glacier, which means its elevation changes with snowfall and summer melting. For much of modern history, the South Peak was the highest, but continued ice loss caused it to fall below the North Peak.
This footage was recorded just after reaching the summit, with an almost perfectly clear blue sky and virtually no wind – extraordinary conditions in Sweden’s high mountains.
A rare moment of complete calm high above the Arctic landscape of northern Sweden. Sound of Sweden – capturing the landscapes, sounds and atmosphere of Sweden. #Kebnekaise #Sweden #SwedishMountains #Hiking #Mountains #Nature #SwedenNature #Shorts
